​About the Artist

東京を拠点とする日系カナダ人の作曲家兼サウンドデザイナー。

幼少期からの ヒップホップやインディーロックへの愛情を、現代のエレクトロニック音楽や シネマティック音楽と融合させ、

コマーシャルやドキュメンタリー映画のために オリジナルで革新的な音楽やサウンドを制作してきました。

これまでにユニクロ、レクサス、ナイキ、The Ritz Carlton、

ウォルト・ディズ ニー・ジャパン、ナショナルジオグラフィック、FOX Sports、三菱自動車、 資生堂、Hotels.com、アイシン、

パナソニックのために音楽を手がけています。

現在、タンザニアを舞台としたドキュメンタリー映画『ライオン・ナイト』の 音楽を制作中で、2025年に公開予定です。

Justin Woolsey is a Japanese-Canadian composer and sound designer based in Tokyo. Blending an early love of hip hop and indie rock with modern electronic and cinematic music, he has created original and innovative music and sounds for commercials, film, games and consumer devices. He has worked extensively with The Walt Disney Company Japan on commercials and mobile content, most notably a series of commercials featuring Hilary Duff. In 2014 he was the composer and sound designer for National Geographic Channel Japan’s “Ultimate Car Battle”, which won the PromaxBDA Asia Award Gold for “Best Documentary or Factual Entertainment Promo”. More recently he has been commissioned for projects by Lexus, Panasonic and Uniqlo. He is currently scoring a documentary, Lion Night, set in Tanzania due to be released in 2025. He is also collaborating on music with Tunisian-Canadian vocalist, Meriem Ben Amor, to be released in the fall of 2024.
